Finding Direction in the First Draft

Finding Direction in the First Draft

The first draft gives an idea something concrete to work with. A rough layout, a few type choices, and a simple color palette can help reveal the direction of a project.

At this stage, it helps to keep decisions flexible. Moving elements around and trying different proportions often brings useful questions to the surface. What needs attention first? Is the content easy to follow? Does the layout support its purpose?

Each revision builds on those early observations, gradually bringing the design into focus.
